You should replace your toothbrush when it begins to show wear or every three months which ever comes first.

It is also very important to change toothbrushes after you have had a cold or Flu, since the bristles can collect germs that can lead to re-infection.

Some people still prefer whitening their teeth using home remedies like baking soda, sticks, and toothbrush to gently scrub away stains on their teeth.
